i actually got pretty much the same thing... but mine came with a "wasp" machine. i still dont think its that good, but im doing ok with it for now, im looking into buying an ITS machine soon. with my "wasp" i think theres something wrong with it cause the armature bar doesnt hit flat on the first coil, which i think its supposed to. i dont think i will be buying anything else from them... i've seen pictures of all the ppl that work there and none of them seem to have any tattoos, it just kinda doesnt feel right.

I figure it's going to be a real piece of crap but I don't know where to start so I just wanted a little sample of all the basic supplies. My uncle has done all his own tattoos. He has some really sick work even behind his shoulders and its all done in prison with homemade tools. Shading and everthing! So I guess I should at least be able to make something happen with a generic store-bought machine. It may just hurt a little more than the expensive ones.

I still use one of those. I started with one, there not bad. in fact since I learned with one I perfer it, because I am confortable with it. just keep an extra set of coils on hand, not that that is a defect, but thats the only thing I have ever had to replace.

my two penneth for you, what ever kit you buy, always try and get hold of the biggest and heaviest grip tube you can, it helped me when i first started out. helps with the shakes and putting a smooth clear straight line in. ;)

My kit was a Superior that came with a Wasp. The machine works great as a liner but for shading, it is a little light on it. My desision to go with Superior is that they didn't lag the kit down with a bunch of crap you didn't need or can get from the local pharmacy for half the price.
I went with the Wasp machine (they had choices at the time) because I have CTS in my drawing hand and the Wasp was the lightest machine they had. It runs good for me and purred with the original PS and growled with a new one. I've moved up since then to heavier machines but I still go back to the little Wasp when my wrist is feeling testy. My advice is to get a better PS when you can but starting out, it is a decent kit. -------------------- "You open up your arms and then you get down on your knees. I got my kit from Superior. I got the cheapest kit for 99$ and it is enough to get started. Within 5 minutes I had an ant-eater scribbled on a grapefruit. I couldn't wait to get started. After the grapefruit I filled in a piece on my arm that had been bugging me for a while. Just a black dot abot the size of an eraser. It was a little meaty looking but today it's healing nice.

My first kit was the $249 special from Unimax, most of the price was machine, I love that big heavy iron bastard, but the rest of the stuff the kit came with was junk, the needles and disposable tubes were cool, but the power supply sucked, and the ink wouldn't hold, I bought some Prizm, not knowing any better, and the unimax crap makes it look like Skin Candy. All in all, no buyrt's remorse, lessons lesrned and all.
