Christy's Ink

Hello!!!

Recommended Posts

My name is Christy and I have been a tattoo artist for the past 4 years or so. I worked that time in a shop owned by a long time acquaintance that took me on as an apprentice.  I've always been an artist on paper and have wanted to tattoo since I was 12 years old. He really only taught me the basics such as set up, tear down, and how to use an auto clave.  He turned out to b an arigant prick that treated me like a dumbass when I tried to ask questions about tips and gradation and color blending, etc. so I basically learned the art form by myself.  I have a steady hand, a good eye, attention to detail, and I practice complete sterilization (as ALL artists should of course) and am as clean as they come.  (I take cross contamination very seriously).

Well… long story short…late last year he started doing crack and let the shop go producing horrible work,  and stopped paying the bills (including the $5,000 business loan I took out to relocate the shop) and finally getting us evicted. So now I have turned my spare room, in my home,  into a tattoo room and am working at home until I can open up my own place.

So that's my story. I just happened to come across this forum when looking for a tattoo tip. Thought I would give it a try cause there is so much yet to learn and I really have no one to turn to.  So I am hoping by joining, this turns into a good thing and I can get some good advice.  So in advance, it's nice to meet everyone!

Hope this wasn't a bad message to start.

Thank you

have you considered applying for jobs at other tattoo studios? bringing your portfolio and showing them some of your work?
