Swashdrive with critical power supply

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

I've been using a swashdrive with a critical power supply. Does anyone know if it is true that this is not good to do?

Is anyone else using the same combination?

Thanks!

Joby

why would it not be good? curios as to what you heard but... where I come from power supply is designed to work and run with tattoo machine. not sure if you mean might need an extra push, as in.. Cheyenne has its own power supply, or you could alternatively but an additional cable for it to be compatible...

I think older Criticals had a short/overload protection in them. If the machine had a short and the coils kept the a-bar clamped down, the ps would shut off. When you hooked up a rotary the ps would read the continuous draw as a short and shut off the machine.  That was fixed a few years ago. So, if your machine keeps running - the ps/machine combo is fine.
