It's such a good idea too. Wonder if it will become a regular thing? It might be a nice way to raise the profile/reputation of the serious amateurs and distinguish them from the scratchers. It's such a shame how those who are no less dedicated than people lucky enough to find apprenticeships just get lumped together with the fuckheads who don't give a damn and drag their names down.

almost everyone on the list has let me know they will be submitting ... so im on track with that and ive had a few more submit me stuff aswell some will be in it .. some wont but just from what im getting together from myself and from what ive seen here if people are putting out quality line drawlings like they are artwork here and in artclass .. this sketchbook will be just as good and if not better than some of the major sketchbooks out at the moment

Just curious but what happens if you pick a winner of this comp, they get awarded a machine and then you dont get enough art to make an actual book, now what? Im just wondering for all I know you could be getting emailed tons of pieces daily, just curious.

if i didnt get enough pieces which i have already had a good amount i will fill the rest with my stuff until i have a solid sketchbook ...

and if i dont get anything nothing will happen this will just be a great comp with a great prize ... and the builder will be reimbursed by myself and I for his time n effort ....

Well it's tough going up against such strong competition, so I guess I'm appealing to the Detail Fetishist's vote

It was tough having a Halloween deadline on this one, caused some friction, as it's pretty much me n wifey's annual night out...then again maybe I shouldn't have spent 2 hrs carving a sugar skull pumpkin as well. Must just be a glutton for punishment .

I love illustration, and barnstormer I like yours a lot! ...Maybe it's because I have a hangover from hell right now, but I'm finding the "Paper Trails" text quite hard to read.

Also I've noticed some people have included mention of Ink Trails on their design....didn't someone say somewhere that we shouldn't do that, for some reason or other?



It's gonna be tough finding the balance between amazing pieces of artwork which should be in the book, and good pieces of graphic design appropriate for being on a book cover.
