Josh Carlton definetly has his own style of tattooing that is in a way unique, he uses large set up mags, no outline and tattoos like he paints, its very cool to watch but doesnt translate well into other types of tattooing, but then thats all depending on how you like to tattoo, i picked up a few things from his dvds that i use in my tattooing.
i have volume 1 and 2, and am more then happy with my purchase, if i find volume 3 at the right price ill pick it up

The dumber people think you are, the more surprised they're going to be when you kill them.

so was it helpfull like ... anything intresting regarding machines and stuff ? volume 1 im talking about ?
il be totally honest.. i got them when they first came out.. way too early for my skill level and basically i watched them maybe 3 times each trying to take in as much as possible... and watch in awe as dude basically painted on skin with a 15 mag..
If you read what Josh says about his dvds and books i.e that they are not for beginners and are only usefull if you are a competent tattoo artist who has mastered mags and is ready to take their art to the next level.. this is totally accurate..
If you like his style of work, and think maybe you are a good enuf artist to be able to master realism tattooing, then yeh, somewhere along the line you will find these dvds and books valuable.
There is a section in each dvd that he shows you how he sets up his machines.. and in the book also..
