  1. Have some questions before getting first tattoo, any tips? I want to get a full sleeve black (grey) tattoo as my first, but really want to think this through. I wanted to ask a couple of things: 1) Where can I find "good tattoo" galleries with excellent work from top notch experts in the field? 2) Any tattoo books that you could recommend to order and browse through to get ideas for how I want my design to look? 3) Any general tips for getting the first tattoo? 4) Any red flags I should look out for or general recommendations when choosing the artist and saloon? Thank you!

Hey im planning on getting ink on me and i need some help with this. So im an atheist and i dont want any religious tattoos on me. So are these type of tattoos referred as religious and/or what other meanings they might have? that lion thing would look dope, but not even sure what it really is? i really like the look of those sculpture tattoos. http://media.gettyimages.com/photos/asolo-veneto-region-italy-european-union-picture-id78710650

  4. Hey everyone, I'm looking to get my first tattoo and I would like it to be the best ever! I know that a lot of good tattoo artists are meeting at conventions and I live in Quebec. Any suggestion for the best artist in Quebec ? Or the biggest convention ? I can't go to the bike & tattoo show this weekend and the other biggest convention I know is the Ink n Road in august. I'm more into realistic, color, not too big ( no sleeves ).. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you guys! Alex
  5. Prices!?!

Hey! So I was just speaking to a local tattoo artist who flyer I found in someones door and shower him something I wanted to get done(a arrow on my inner bicep). I asked him how much he'd charge for it then he asked what can I afford, I gave him a range of $15-20 then he says "my ass", what the fuck was the point then? Then he asked my age, race and bullshit. I even told him I'd been out of work for a few months so I can't afford much so it shouldn't have come as a surprise. What would you guys charge for a arrow on someone's inner bicep? I've definitely been put off by this person, I definitely don't want someone that is talking down to me doing my tattoo so now I need to find a new artist.
  6. Anyone want to help me help South Korea:) Please share ! My name is Chelsea Votel and Im trying to get in contact with some International doctors. Im currently helping Korea tattoo artists association fight the fight to legalize tattooing in South Korea. I am writing in hopes of obtaining a letter from you to support this. At this time the law in South Korea states that it is illegal to give a tattoo unless it is given by a licensed Md but finding a doctor that tattoos is extremely rare! This law needs to be regulated. Having artists tattoo with out this regulation its more dangerous. South Korea government approved the idea of legalizing in last weeks meeting l but they need to convince the Ministry of Health to be on board with this idea. Ministry of Health strongly believes that tattoo is a medical procedure. The South Korean government requested that we received letters from International doctors saying that in their country doctors don't tattoo as well explaining the importance of receiving a health tattoo by an artist with current and current certificates and training. Its a very simple letter that can help us out in a BIG BIG way! If you or anyone you think could help please Contact Chalsea Votel Yopickles@getmeinked.com I can send you a sample letter and more details as well. If you have time check out the amazing artists work www.facebook.com/groups/InkedKorea you'll see why Im fighting so hard for these amazingly talented artists. Its extremely unfair that these artists are being treated like criminals for expressing art. Thank you for your time. Hope to hear from you soon Thank you Chelsea Votel

Here's a couple of the articles, on hand tattoos from the middle ages http://www.nexopia.com/mag/tattoos/christian-hand-tattoos-from-the-middle-ages and the symbolism of Phoenix tattoos: http://www.nexopia.com/mag/tattoos/what-does-a-phoenix-tattoo-symbolize We need new ideas for tattoo article topics, and thought the people at ink trails could help. Or, if any are interested in writing some pieces, they should talk to me to. Check out the site and see what you think: http://www.nexopia.com/mag/blog/categories/tattoos
