  2. hi everyone. i posted something like this before, but i asked for only cartoony and new school designs, however now i want to try realism/traditional tattoos. i have always failed at realism with anatomy, shading etc. can anyone give me ideas of stuff to sketch and draw to improve my realism? shading tips are useful too as i suck at placement. thank you all yes i am a bad artist, and very unprepared to learn tattooing, but bear with me.
  3. Hi guys, So I've dreamt of becoming a tattoo artist for years, yet my only art experience is for two years in high school when I was 14-15 years old. I don't study creative arts at University, either, I study journalism. I can draw though, and you can see some of my work on my instagram @emsch_ or https://www.instagram.com/emsch_/ or attached on my profile here. I was just wondering what my chances would be regarding getting an apprenticeship, or should I study art before trying? Ps. Any constructive criticisms on my art would be accepted! Thankyou!

  5. just looking for some feedback on this recent lantern composition I drew, (how the line weights are, composition, strong and week points, flow and lay out, etc.) thanks for any feed back offered
  6. So I still don't have an apprenticeship yet, but really looking to research, learn and develop my line work, and overall improve my artwork. Most of these are basic flash, google searches that I repainted. Some are custom pieces, but it seem easier to look at other traditional pieces as a reference and than later I can start tweaking them once I have the linework and styles down. I am nowhere near a Sailor Jerry or any pro, but just wanted to get an idea if these are good for a basis for a portfolio to approach shops with an apprenticeship. Still working on gradients, line-work, not sculpting lines and trying to make one pass and overall proportions and size. Hopefully you guys see some progress during my little visit here!
