    Staying motivated

So I’m fairly new to tattooing but im in a shop full time. For me business has been slow mostly because I have only been doing tattoos on friends and people I know. I have been doing a lot of flash (recently sailor jerry designs) in my spare time. My question is what’s a good way to stay motivated in the downtime and what are some ways I can keep improving even when not able to do tattoos? Also I find myself getting lazy sometimes because when it’s slow one of my other coworkers at the shop doesn’t do much art wise and I think it’s rubbing off on me a bit any advice? btw I post a lot of my paintings on my Instagram feel free to check them out maybe give a follow thanks: @sg.artist

    Original flash

Thanks for the feedback guys, I have been drawing and painting like crazy sometimes I fall into the category of almost copying someone else’s design but it has become easier to reference and make it my own design

    Original flash

So I’m having trouble coming up with my own original flash I usually copy someone else’s design then tweak it a little bit but I find myself copying the designs sometimes exactly the same almost. What are some thoughts on this and how do you come up with original flash?
  6. I bought a few surgical skin markers one is bold tip like a marker and the other is finer like a drawing pen. My question is it ok to use these markers multiple times or is it unsanitary to reuse them after drawing on someone’s skin?

    I need some advice

I’ve been apprenticing/tattooing almost a year now . I take tattooing very seriously and am trying to make it a career. I am HIv positive and am undetectable meaning there is very low risk of transmission. I know in California that it is legal to get licensed if you have hep c or hiv. I’m just wondering what you guys think of my situation and if you know of any other professionals that might have been in a similar situation. Thanks
