Now Then all,
Just joined up and figured I'd introduce myself. I'm Denham, or affectionately Denweasel, I'm from the industrial mecca of Leeds, UK. I'm a pro freestyle skateboarder, which basically gives me the same status as a professional Yo-Yoer. Sorry if anyone here is a professional Yo-Yoer.
I spent most of my life being told what I am or am not capable of, and after attending art college a few years ago with dreams of getting into the tattoo industry, I soon had the creativity crushed out of me and headed into fairly monotonous lines of work. Anyways, I've recently put pen back to paper and started creating my portfolio, picking up where I left off a few years ago. I feel that at 25 I might be a little late to the party, and I've now got responsibilities and more bills to pay, but my hope is still to find an apprenticeship and take on the dream job I always hoped for. I feel more motivated now than ever before but I know there's still a long way to go.
Any advice at all would be rad. I'll get posting a few bits of flash up and I'd really appreciate your feedback, and be as brutally honest as you would like. I was going to write up a post asking for apprenticeship advice, but I figured this had been done to death and I didn't want to clog up the page. I'm having a word with myself to see if this is possible and working out funds/time, so any advice from your experience would be greatly appreciated.
Look forward to chatting to you all,
