    I'm Back Too..

I really love this forum, and want to start using it again - so many tips and good artists in here I've been tattooing for almost 1,5 year now and I'm so in love with my job! But sometimes I just find it hard to keep improving on my own (because at the moment we're only two tattoo artists at the shop and we're about the same level). I'm lucky though, because the shop regularly have some amazing guest artists, so every chance I have, I try to learn from them Anyway, good advices are more than welcome - here are some of my recent work. One healed lion (with small touch up) and a bunch of fresh tattoos. I really want to start getting my customers to send me healed photos of their tattoos, because I think they often heal too light (I'm working on making my tattoos darker).

Since I started tattooing I haven't been drawing a lot - but I really want to get back into drawing.. So I needed to do something fun, yet relaxing.. And to me that means lots of details.. One thing I have improved a lot because of my tattooing, is my speed and ability to concentrate for a long time. So, 2 days and about 15 hours later, this was done.

    Second Work [Owl] - Wip

If I were you I'd definitely start with small, simple tattoos - learn how to do a decent good outline and good shading, before jumping into these big pieces..

    One Month Of Tattooing..

So, I was lucky enough to find an apprenticeship and started it two months ago. It's a great place and they let me start tattooing quite fast. For those who don't remember, I've been in another apprenticeship before, which unfortunately didn't work out. I was there for 8 months and just started tattooing - think I did around 10 tattoos in that apprenticeship. After it ended I took a year to just work a bit more with my artwork and focus on that. I've been tattooing for a month now and have tattooed 15 tattoos. I struggle so much with my lines and getting the tattoo dark enough for it to heal nicely.. I'm open for any advice/critique - I really just want to keep improving. Here's some of the tattoos I've done in my current apprenticeship.. This was the first one : My third: My fifth (and first realistic and color tattoo): My eight: My ninth: My eleventh:

    Daily Doodle Anyone?

Adm: love the whale drawing - look forward to see it finished! I did a drawing of a tattoo machine - wanted to try something new, so did it on coloured paper and used a white gel pen for highlights.

    Daily Tattoos!

Thank you guys! Iodised: Really cool cover up you did! Rem: Nice to see you've started tattooing - look forward to see the first ones on skin Swanhater: Looks really cool! Nice designs! Yesterday I tattooed my first eye (really been looking forward to that) and today I tattooed my second portrait-ish tattoo. Tried to remember the advices I got from some of the guys in here - but think I could still have gone a bit darker with the shading probably.. But I DID try not to be afraid of using black

First Portrait Tattoo.. Rip It Apart.

Thank you so much for your comment, Monk. I really find all this highlighting hard - so that's definitely something I need to work on and practice some more. And you're right, it did heal light, so will have to make it a bit darker with a touch up - like you say, I was a bit too nervous to make it too dark (like with all my tattoos, which is a huge issue for me, since most of my tattoos need a touch up after they've healed).. And again, thank you! This was really helpful
  18. Yesterday I did my first portrait tattoo - there will be added two red roses to match another tattoo on the guy, and the background "vines" stuff is also made because the customer wanted it to match his other tattoo. Please let me know what you think and what to improve next time

First Portrait Tattoo.. Rip It Apart.

Thank you, guys. And especially thank you for the useful "critique", zozobra. I completely agree with the things you point out, and will remember this for next time! It's great with someone pointing out the flaws, then it's easier to see it yourself and learn from it

    Daily Tattoos!

I finished this today - part of it is healed. Unfortunately I didn't get a good picture of it, but here are the best one This was the first tattoo where I tried a new technique I learned from one of my co-workers - about 80-90 percent of this tattoo was done with a 3/5 round shader

    First Realistisic Rose In Colors..

I didn't do the skull - another artist started that one, but didn't finish The rose is just from a photo I found
  25. I did my first rose in colors yesterday. Used reds and reddish-brown for the light areas and black and purple for the dark. Any advice and things to do different next time would be much appreciated!
