THIS IS A SITE FOR ARTISTS, NOT CLIENTS (Please read before posting)   04/18/2018

I'm seeing a lot more questions from people who are looking to get tattoos, asking about ideas, healing instructions, etc. These are questions you should ask YOUR  LOCAL TATTOO ARTIST, not random people on the internet. This site is specifically for tattoo artists and those looking to get into the trade by way of an apprenticeship. Don't be shy! Google local artists and drop by a shop or two, check out their portfolio of work and talk about your ideas with a professional who can help you achieve the best tattoo experience.

       Thanks for reading!

  5. Your Drawing Tools Of The Trade

hey guys so im really interested into what people use for there drawing. At the moment im stuck with colour pencils no brand just cheap ass ones got some decent drawing pencils and hb's but my drawing is starting to take off now and i think its about time i invested into alot more. i like the idea of using pens to colour and some one was telling me to use black pens for outlines etc. post your tools of the trade and please help me understand what pens, pencils etc are best to use from your experiences thankyou enjoy
  6. Then And Now

see now this is why i joined this forum you guys are so resourceful. i went and got a good quality set of pencils from soft to hard the artist shop owner said they were good to get used to and got a neat lil pencil carrier too ha. i will be popping back to get some more things after this im very motivated now. i will start to put together a list of things and post on this topic just to be sure im gonna get the real things i need plus any advice. i will study draughtmanship like my life depended on it and when ive got some decent drawings of spheres and cubes will post to ok . in response to natebot im very sorry i did mean watercolours just goes to show how much i have to learn ill add the items to my future list after i have really grasped my drawing ok. with regards to the tracing i find this helps me alot i have a picture memory once ive done it a few times its locked in there, im very very lucky i guess .will continue to trace and draw my ass off thanks again guys dan
  7. Then And Now

oh i do have a canvass board which i got handed down to me so i think thats a plus for the painting side but thats it ok
  8. Then And Now

i have a light box which came today and standard stuff you know pencils and etc tracing paper. i heard oil painting is similar to a tattoo but i have no idea what paints to get or brand and paintbrushes what else should i be looking at getting if any? cheers shocker
  9. Then And Now

thanks for the feedback guys i will take on board what you have said. in regards to the scales not being the same size, i had a referance but didnt try to look at that much throughout the process of drawing just trying to capture the picture in my head and then go for. so i got confused as to whether they should all be the same size. one question towards the tail shoul they get smaller or just remain the exact same size and shape through out the whole koi? to stoneface i will deffinatly start tracing more and would agree may seem first grade but i have realised it has more potential than most people think. all i did with the koi was trace trace trace then just went for it on my own. is that a good way to continue?. ive just purchased a light box and got my study set up with all my drawing equipment. i really want to do this right before i even attempt to tattoo pig skin etc i wanna feel i have had to work my ass off to get there so any tips please feel free to share with me. take care guys and speak soon

hey everybody my names is dan from the uk and have been drawing and practicing tattooing (on practise skin and myself) for about 4 months now. i needed somewhere to come to help me develop my skills as an artist but more importantly to make sure im doing everthing right. i have read endless amounts of information about hygiene and steralization and the technique of tattooing but everything says something differant. so with that in mind i thought id become a member and learn of the people that have the knowledge and experience so i hope you can all help me i appreciate any piece of criticism you give me and any advice will be taken wit up most respect thanks for reading and take care look forward to diving in some topics dan
