Tattooing The Side Of The Stomach..

You might wanna just slow down. Youve only tattooed for a little over a month now, Right? Its ok to turn down a tattoo because of lack of expenses. You may want to stick to spots like arms and legs. Slowly work into tougher spots by doing things like forearms, calfs and thighs and then working into inner biceps, then mens chest, then ribs and then stomachs and womens chest. Iron out the kinks in your tattoos and figure out how to problem solve things like hand speed and the voltage you need to run your machines at on simpler spots before you move on. Slowly working your way to tougher spots will help you naturally now what you need to change between each area. I think once you figure that stuff out you'd do much better on ribs and stomachs. It probably is a combination of things like needle depth, your machine, the stretch and your handspeed. Its easier to fix one of those then to figure out all of them while tattooing one of the hardest areas on the body. And your apprenticeship has only been about two months so far, Right? Your stuff is looking good. But it blows my mind a mentor would have any apprentice tattooing ribs and stomachs so early on ecs. when you say the other tattooer was of no assistance in helping you. This is probably a tattoo your mentor should be hovering over walking you through. But like previously mentioned its probably just an issue of stretching more, slowing down and not being scared to run your machine appropriately. Ask your mentor to be there the next time you try a tattoo out of your comfort zone. It will be much easier for them to evaluate what will benefit you. Keep up the good work though, Ribs and stomachs are really tough no matter what but when youre new to tattooing they can be almost impossible to lay down a solid line on.

When You Travel By Air To Tattoo...

I like my Pelican too. and I plan to upgrade to a nicer one soon. But I see way to often people buying them for their first trip because they think they need them. Sure they are great when your shits getting thrown around in it. But Im just stating most people dont actually need one. If you travel extensively they are awesome although any medium hardshell and a bookbag can keep you on the road for a couple months. Pretty much everyone I know shells out a ton of cash on a Pelican the very first thought of traveling and lots of them dont even know how much they will need to store in it yet or how much it will cost to check at the airport. And I think the pressure valve on them is bullshit. I believe it works for its intended purposes but I dont think its helps to keep your inks from exploding. Ive seen pelicans with exploded ink and Ive seen cheaper cases not explode. I wasnt saying Pelicans suck, they are the nicest cases Ive seen. But everyone wants one because they think they need one. Im just saying contrary to popular belief you dont need one to fly.

When You Travel By Air To Tattoo...

I know this is an old thread but it was recently commented. I spent 8 months driving, flying and taking buses and trains around the country so I will add my two cents. Carry on your machines and everything else will be fine. Individually wrap all your ink and put them in a sealed container. You dont even need a fancy pressurized pelican case. ive used pressurized cases and Ive used normal luggage. Neither mattered. Pelicans are just a gimmick tattooers use to show they fit into the cool kids club. Unless you're traveling daily it may not even be worth the investment. My best travel case has been a $3 hardshell Samsonite I picked up at a thrift store. Also youd never be allowed to carry on ink since its a bottled liquid over the allotted amount for carryon. Dont worry about your stuff freezing. I have showed up to shops up North in the winter with my greensoap frozen. As long as you machines and power supply arent exposed to extreme weather conditions that can mess up the metals and electronics I wouldnt be worried.

Ive spent the better part of the past year running around the country. Ive settled back at home and have a lot of free time now to waste online. I also have tons of prints and paintings to unload. So expect a lot of stuff to be posted in the marketplace from me. Im also going to try to take some time to contribute a little bit around here. I probably wont even be as big of a dick as I was in the past.

I just did this one tonight. It will probably be the last one I do before I head out to Atlantic City. Thanks for looking. Not the greatest tattoo but I never really get to do fun stuff like this anymore so I figured Id share it. 1379747_676821302349318_1973239835_n by Alchemy In The Moon Light, on Flickr
