I was wondering if anyone can tell me the advantages of using bigger grips, and how big should you go.

The biggest I think they make is 1 inch. The good thing about them is the releive stress off of your hand. It gives more balance to the machine and gives more weight down by your fingers and not over your hand. I tend to use a 3/4 for outlining and then a 1 inch for shading they do help.

The thinner needles I use, the smaller grips.
I don't like those big-ass grips that a lot of people use, i think smaller ones feels more like pencils.. But you should buy grips in all sizes and just experiment, find out what works for you.. Keem |

The larger grips work well when you are doing huge fill. It's a life saver when you are doing tribal fill for hours and don't want to get a huge hand cramp
