I originally posted this topic in the flash competition way back in November of '07.
It seemed to be one of the more popular topics at the time & now we have so many
more members (& I'm back posting a topic) I thought we should revisit it...

WINGS

Any kind of wings, from traditional swallows to butterflies (& moths..Ha Ha..) to Gothic demons. As long as
the tattoo has wings in it it's in................

These rules are in place to make the contest run smoothly and efficiently.

Rules

1:- Original Art ONLY
2:- Each member may submit only ONE entry per week
2:- Pencil, Pen, Ink, Crayon, Paints, watercolor etc...
3:- NO Digital or Photoshop (unless your cropping or making it a smaller size)
4:- Comp. ends in 2 wks + 2 days on Saturday (Dec. 12th) at midnight (Eastern) (U.K.+4) (Hawaii-6) (HK+12) etc...
5:- Art must be "Tattooable."
6:- Nothing you drew a month ago is allowed, must be Original/New stuff from every contestant
7:- If you feel the need to Prove your work, please provide evidence of this. (entirely up to you)
8:- NO High Jacking of the weekly thread what so ever!!

Let's go for everyone's A game...

Most important RULE is HAVE FUN
We are all laying in the gutter but some of us are looking for spare change...

i dont usually go for the oldschool type stuff but decided to give this a go - i dont think its technically traditional - more neo-trad but there you go - either way its a design lol

week coffe mixture washed al over left to dry - then splattered with a darker coffee left to dry then splashed with just water - on that note - why do we coffee stain them - i just did it cos i see u lot do it lmao - i think it makes the piece stand out more too

I think it just gives the piece an old, tattered look. Like it's an old piece from back in the day. Like an old map or something. I find that if you keep the wash off certain areas of the art, it enhances your negative space even that much more too.

Whether it was originally intended or not, I don't know, but I think the staining helps set the piece against a background more like skin tone too :D

This is tinted with imported
Japanese Koi Blood, Green
Tea stain & Piss...

Attached Image: Winged__Phone.jpg

I've sent the sketches, line work & other stages
(illustrating the process I use to draw a design up)
to Nerd for the Sketchbook, so it may or may not
be appearing in there at some point in the future..
