So, most of us must know these series. And every one has an opinion about it. I personally think everything that I see even remotely connectible to tattooing is worth watching. So are these INK series. These series are mostly based on scripted events, meaning the customers call the shop or the TV company, and than they decide on the story of the customer if its interesting for the show. So we know some of it is fake, but the stories are real and the most important thing, the tattoos are real. I have still, like most of the users on our forum, a lot to learn. I'm not even close to where they are skill wise.
I'm not interested in what you think there sexual interests are, or if you think they are sellouts. I can read enough of that on other sites. I hope we are dealing with a more grown up group of people. but I am interested in who you think are good, and why. What do you like about their styles. What inspires you in these series. Do you think you can learn from these series. And please keep it on the constructive side. -------------------- honor loyalty respect |

Chris Garver and Corey Miller do it for me, Corye just comes accros as such a NICE guy and I think he is pretty cute, 0therr than that these programmes are just making Ami,Kat and Louis Millionaires, and I dont think the Art of tattooing should be exploited as so

I watch them all...( probably a few seasons behind thou) with all the bullshit on tv (that i refuse to watch) its refreshing to grab a hour or so a week of something that i want to see.. i wish there was more.. there are loads of Tattoo Artists out there who id like to watch..
I think Ami has improved x10 since the first series.. Have always liked Garvers work ( and hes just a nice guy too!!) ive seen some amazing work from Darren Brass.. Kat is Unique too.. not really seen too much LA ink.. but enuf to know Kat and Pixie dont lurve each other any more lol.. London ink... someone said boring artists??? believe me mate, what you see is what you get... Louie kinda annoys me.. goes to work in a shirt and tie... i dont have to say much else... whoever the other 3 are.. as someone said.. a bit boring... definitely needs some THX editing.... and the narrator whatever u call it is REALLY ANNOYING Ink Wars was much better... -------------------- Nosferatu1812@yahoo.com

Like everyone else I'm just hungry for knowledge, and it makes obvious sense to me that if I want to become a tattoo artist then I should watch a reality t.v show all about tattoo artists at work.....especially such talented ones. London ink is the only show i've actually paid for- worth every penny of the tenner I spent on ebay- but the others have waaay too much drama and scripted events for me to pay for (although I'll happily wade through the hours of bullshit for the gems of knowledge if im watching free online). I watched an episode of L.A ink once where Kat was in the bath with her boyfriend having a personal chat........
youve got to remember though, the average person has an IQ of around 3, and gets withdrawl symptoms if they don't watch either badly written and acted soaps or britain's got talent on a regular basis. So you may hate the fakeness and acted elements of these Ink shows, BUT if it wasnt for these factors theres a good chance they wouldnt have took off like they have done, and the art of tattooing wouldnt be getting the attention it is getting, and deserves. -------------------- "Life is the hardest teacher, she gives the test first and the lesson afterwards"

yeah i hear ya mate! a bit of overload hey. i think miami ink was really good, too much personal bullshit and off topic stuff in LA ink, london ink missed the mark for me. so what shall bondi ink bring to the equation? i wouldnt say that i learned much from the shows (thats my teachers job) but they do provide some good inspiration
oh and i'd like to announce the opening of my new studio next year called...brisbane ink |
