> Guidelines for Giving Feedback

Please consider the following when giving feedback on a member's tattoo:

Line work: Does the artist seem to have grasped the technique of applying smooth, consistent lines? Do the lines flow with no shakes, skips or blow-outs?

Fill: Are all color and black areas a consistent color?

Shading: Does the tattoo show smooth gradients and transition effectively from light to dark?

Color Harmony:
Does the tattoo have colors that compliment each other?

Placement/Size:
Does the tattoo seem to be the right size for the area chosen? Is it centered and lined up with any other work? Does it go with the flow of the body?

Design: How well does the overall design work? Does it have sound composition? Does it feel well thought out?

Feedback: What areas could be improved?

Here is a tiger I tattooed the other day.

I´m not satisfied with it yet, that´s why I´m going over this once more after it´s healed. smoothen the blues and add some more colour and details on the tiger etc etc.

Mate if you're not happy with it I don't know why! I've looked hard and I love the piece. The blues are gonna lighten up once healed and the rest is tops. The one tiny thing I see is the outline of the ears could be a little softer but honestly man IMO it's grrrrreat!

I feel some of the intenzecolours is so thick and difficult to get into the skin.. but there is a couple of intenze-inks wich I intend to keep beacause they are thinner and easy to put in and work with.

Like this piece.. the dark brown.. impossible.. thick and hard to get in.

I dont know if you work out of a shop or home, but I would be wary of where you buy your inks from in Sweden, there are fake Intenze inks coming out of China, some of the tattoo supply sites in Sweden where you can buy ink from..Luckys, extreemz even people on blocket sell mainly chinese equipment and it would make sense that they buy there ink there too.
heres a link to some fake intenze

Yes some of the intenze inks are thick but I think they do go in well. I buy mine from the USA. Although I am thinking of changing, to a less synthetic ink, Waverly have got a sample set for 50 bucks I´m quite interested trying.

I agree....thin your ink if it's too thick... I use the Intenze Dk Brown and it'll go in if ya spill it on somebody.
Hey Punks....You can also get the Alla Prima basics for $60 BTW....thinkin' about it myself...yet to use 'em.

I can see where you would want to go back in to smooth out the blues. It's not BAD, but seeing your attention to slick details like that in your recent pieces, I know where you're coming from. Nice job. smile.gif Did you use a gray to outline? Or did you just work off the stencil?

As an experienced artist I'll say this. Your tattoos are 50/50. 50% awesome and 50% what are you doing?!!!

The skull is beautifully rendered, the font and the head phones are like tits on a bull. This one, the tiger is cool but the swirl messes it up. Just because it may look good on a cd cover doesn't mean it will transfer well. Just take more time in the planning technically you can pull it off.

Guess where I bought my Intenze-colours? from ExtremeZ angry.gif

I´m going to by a new set of ink from Eternal wich funnyfarmtattoo.se uses and he is extremely happy with those.

I know what you mean with the swirl around the Tiger, any tattoo with just the head ( human, animal etc ) need some kind of background, actually this swirl flows quite nice with his inner biceps. but if you have any different ideas what I should have done please let me know, I´m willing to learn more and get better smile.gif
