Why not have a subforum, in the paid section, for people who actually work in the Tattoo industry? A place for artists, apprentices, piercers, machine builders, hell even the front desk.
It's not that hard to verify whether someone actually works in a licensed tattoo studio, etc. |

why? are those of us that dont work in the industry mainly because we arent lucky enough to be able to get ourselves an aprentice not good enough to mingle with?

we got a members only section already....theres plenty of elitetist sites around elsewhere....whats your thinking that prompted this?I been tattooing 20 years and Im not in a studio or shop right now and dont want to be....where does that leave me?

bah, rubbish!!
There's enough of those kind of forums already, wasn't that the whole idea behind this place to begin with?? Before you hop on me for being a "scratcher" looking for a free ride or knowledge that I "havent earned", lemme note that I apprenticed, Im licensed and have shop experience. However that doesn't matter, learning is learning. Period. i started off on my own with help from some kind and talented people here and at NJ's site. While everyone here isnt a "pro" there are more than a few that earn a living from tattooing, building etc. Hell, ive seen members here (non pro's) that have more talent, drive and smarts than some "pro" artists that i know or have worked with. I am sor of self taught, though I have miles and miles to go, however in the last few weeks I have met a tattooist that is willing to answer any questions I have, Let me sit in on the odd tattoo( interesting ones!!) and just come in and chat. Luckilly he knew me through bebo, and I didnt need to ask for his help ,he offered!, Basically terrors attitude is the sort of attitude, that puts the likes of me off asking for help, almost feeling intimidated,Iconsider myself very lucky, the things he has helped me with may seem simple but if you dont know, you never will,, and basically this is what this sit is about(to me) its people willing to share help and experience, . im bambling now so ill go just my 2 bob -------------------- [color="#FF00FF"][/color][size="5"][/size]

So, you'll talk to a shop manager about stuff, but not to an aspiring tattoo artist who draw's every chance he gets, every day, practicing and preaching clean, safe, responsible tattooing?
Let me get this straight. You don't want to talk to someone like me, but you are o.k. talking to the licensed artists who puts out work like this:  There are idiots on both ends of this apprenticeship argument. But it still kills me to know that you think the guy who put out the crap I just posted gets automatic status points for having a station in a shop. -------------------- |

I get where your coming from, but i also agree that there shouldnt be an "us" and "them" divider. If anything...its all of us against the world! I do agree that a guy that buys a $60 starter set off of ebay and starts chewing skin on his friends for $20 a pop, should have his hands broken until he gets some form of training. However, i think you have to admit, we all had to start somewhere. At least with this site available, those ebay tattooers will know the proper way to protect against BBP. That in itself is reason enough. I didnt take you comment as snobbery. I do understand the idea that those who have busted their ass to learn everything they can, dont want to just hand that knowledge out to those who havent done their time. But in the grand scheme of things, we are all here for one reason. because we love tattooing. And in that regard, we are all on the same team.
