Hello, all!
I am a molecular biologist who has always held an interest in tattoos. A year and a half ago, I picked up my first tattoo (a DNA arm band that I am currently in the process of turning into a full microbiology sleeve!) and have been hooked ever since. My artist took note of my interest and offered to show me the ropes. After a few months of his offering, I couldn't turn down an opportunity like that anymore, and I started my apprenticeship a few weeks ago! I've been going in every day after work and all day on the weekends. I'm loving every second of it. Once my apprenticeship is complete, I will be waving farewell to the lab bench and settling into my station (which, honestly, there are very, very many similarities between the two) to work full-time at the shop. As a new apprentice, I've been scouring books, magazines, and the internet for knowledge. I had kept my distance from forums, as I was worried I might pick up a bunch of bad information from uninformed individuals. You can imagine my surprise at discovering Ink Trails! I lurked for a few weeks before purchasing a membership and have been thoroughly impressed with everything I've seen! You all have an awesome community established, and I'm excited to join in. And just so J.D. knows, I've already clicked "there" and "there" multiple times. ...that came off a little dirtier than intended... I'm leaving it. |

There is still some of that around here, so don't take everything you read as gospel. Best bet is, if you have doubts about anything, ask your mentor. He will steer you in the right direction. After all, that's what he's for. Welcome Mr Robiology -------------------- Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather, to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "Fuck, what a ride"
