How about a chat room link on the forum?
There are hundred of free java/javascript scripts out there that can do the job. And it's not that hard to configure too. Most of them work right out of the box... Just an idea... -------------------- Loneferret

I understand the desirte for live chat and this ideas has been brought up before http://forum.ink-trails.com/live-chat-t1365.html. However, it's my feeling that with a feature such as this, people would seek out the most experienced members and ask questions outside the main board. This might make it so that guests and newbies might not have access to valuable information.
I am not ruling this out in the future, but at present Id like to wait and see how things develop. -------------------- Stay humble.

People said the same thing when I added a "shout" box to my website.. that alot of valuable info was being lost in the chatter.. thing is most of the time people just alk about everything and anything under the sun.. stuff that doesnt really need to be in the forums.. I honestly dont think it makes a diffrence. just is another FUN thing to have.. but untill then.. if you have yahoo, msn or other email providers you can use meebo for free.. www.meebo.com its a stand along chat box.. just add your friends to it.. -------------------- No forgiveness for my sins, I preffer punishment

seeking advice from th more experienced happens anyways through pm ithink so. i do think a plus side of having a live chat function would be the fighting and bickering that has gne on would be taken care of there and then between the people involved rather than on the board. i dunno if even an oounce of what i just put here makes sense ... i just figure if people would use it to seek out the more experineced they would do that via pm anyways with or without a chat thing ... and now i'l shut up cos i have just totally confused meself!!!

They are all good points, apart from me going back to my room to finish assignments. LOL (yes i'm working on them!)
I feel chat is more of a thing where people go to have "general chat" you know you have an hour before your client so you want to kill some time. |

Thinking it over again, it probably wouldn't be great for anything tattoo related since it's nice to have the question/answer posted
permanently somewhere so it can be reviewed over and over again. I know we can use MSN, Yahoo and Jabber and stuff like that, but not everyone uses the same IM application. So here's another suggestion: How about we agree on a meeting place. An off-site IRC channel or something to that effect? Heck, I could do the leg work to have one setup, or use my own server I have here at home. Would need to use my residential internet connection, not super fast, but if it's just to host a chat room it'll be ok. Just another thought... -------------------- Loneferret

TRy downloading and using Trillian, which allows you to talk to anyone with AIM, MSN, Yahoo, or ICQ accounts.
