Koi Scales |

hello everyone , im looking for a way of drawing traditional style japanese scales , im cool with everything else just cant seem to get the scales to be consistent especialy if my koi is bending , i cant get them to flow with the contours of the body , any tips would be much appreciated thanks guys (and gals)

draw lines along the body..... following the curves
then lines across.... then draw the scales evenly spaced..... if you cant do that by eye then.... lol i dunno... PRAcTICE! go look at as many koi flash as you can.... you willl get the hang of it.... its not too hard... just gotta get your eye in

ha love the flash video demonstration very funny , thanks guys , i spent mos of the afternoon and finaly feel though i cracked them , more practice and i will master them , heres some pics of the first couple ,
