> This site is no substitute for a formal apprenticeship

This site is not a substitute for a professional apprenticeship with a licensed tattoo studio. Nor is this site a definitive source for learning the art or trade of tattooing. An apprenticeship is the ONLY universally accepted way to learn proper safety practices and sound technique.

While we welcome members of all levels, we STRONGLY advocate staying away from skin until you've received formal training from someone who works in the field. Hell, even hair stylists must complete over a year of courses, pass a state health board exam, and apprentice under a professional studio before earning a chair.

The trade of tattooing has a rich history and traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation. If you respect the art, please show your respects by learning the right way.

i have a 19 color set of intenze and about 5 bottles of eternal...i like skin candy too..but not their greens or light purples...found that the skin candy white is super thick and seems to hold faster than the intenze...was using one black but just switched to Zuper black......intenze- reds oranges yellows purples....eternal- blues greens....skin candy- reds pink white .........also noticed that the starbright colors are thin...i prefer thicker pigments....but you need to find your own flavor..know what i mean?

Intense and eternal are both great. I have bought bottle by bottle of Intense till I have them all and I am very satisfied and I just purchased all of eternal colors most are great lightning yellow is so runny I’m afraid to try it. And dark red is way thick.

If you’re looking for a thick all-around one brand I would go with Intense

But eternal has some colors that just go in so easy; it made me buy a full set. The dark red add 1 or 2 drops of water to the #12 cap and you’re good to go. And who knows the yellow may surprise me. Most of their colors goes in as easy as gray wash.
Intense and eternal work so well together if you can afford both.

I’ll give you my breakdown if I was picking colors from both

Blues, greens, white, yellow and red from Intense and the colors are the basic colors
Any colors like bright red or mint green I would go eternal and browns pinks and so on.

I know this didn’t help much but take it for what you will.

Eternals are the best ink around. Intenze is a very decent ink as well. Moms, don't bother. Some of the Eternal colors are pretty thick so you really need to like working with a thicker ink. I also started with the alla prima's and you may want to look into those as well. Ive been very impressed, but thats my two cents.

rolleyes.gif Dunno... I use several Moms colors with no issues. What I can't believe is the remark about the Starbrite Orange(bright orange)...that shit Blings...along with the White, Yellow and about everything else. ...I'm not much on the reds ...seems they heal out light...but maybe I havn't bought the right one yet.
So far I've been happy with Intenze except for the Marios Light Blue... gotta pound it in and I'm not into pounding.

You say that you heard Starbrite Orange is not fabulous, I would bet whoever told you that just has dificulty with orange in general. I'm sure others will agree, depending on skin tone, Orange can be useless in some situations. Not saying that Starbrite orange is great, I've not used it, just something to think about.

Man, SkinCandy Orange rocks my world!!!

Starbrite is a very good ink, overall they all go in easy and heal brite even the orange. As already stated they are fairly thin, but i drain off some of the carrier liquid and that thickens them up.I use a few colors by intenze and 1 by moms-ectoplasmic green, dont care for their other colors though.

Great, just when I think I got it all figured out, haha. I just received my order of Classic and Eternal inks, now I hear about this other good brand just a little too late. Oh well, next time I guess.

Yep I bought the kuro color set on a whim or maybe just to see.. I couldn't find out much about em so I took the plunge. They are kinda thick, and I've had good success with some colors, not so good with others, and still have a bunch I haven't tried. I AM in love with the pacific blue, it has stayed rich and dark.
