Well I guess this is more directed to the moderators and the owners of the forum, but would be nice to have everyones opinion on my
idea. Seeing that the Good guy/Bad guy thread is doing it's job, proof being it's grown fast since its creation. I was thinking of something to lighten the load on the forum, and making it easier for people to search for known good/bad guys. I could code something that would resemble e-sprays' rating system. Kinda showing total of good votes and bad. So instead of searching thru the whole thread wanting to see feedback on a particular user, he/she would just search on this page and refer to the number indicating the votes... like e-gray but minus the comments.. just total of good/neutral/bad ... perhaps displaying with whom then had dealings with as well so users can contact them for more detailed feedback on their last transaction. Have no clue if this could be hosted with the forum's server, I could either have this on my own server at home or something like that. Guess that would be up to Jason. So what do you guys think? -------------------- Loneferret

True, but wouldn't having access to who is good and bad quicker help in the research process?

the easiest thing to do would be to not let anyone do private sales they can only be done with an EBAY ad or eliminating it from the site all together. The site is for knowledge and learning and not for buying stuff. If you go for the good deal sometimes the price you pay is getting ripped off when you could have just bought it full price and not gotten screwed.

Ok... I personally wouldn't mind eliminating sales thru the board if it'll help the integrity of the forum...
I was just proposing a tool to help find good guys... But I agree with everything you say mark -------------------- Loneferret

I believe there is a rating system mod for the board software, I would just need to integrate it. I was hoping that when I finally get someone to skin the baord they could add that and a few other select mods to improve things. I'll look into it again.
BTW, thanks ferret for the offer. I may need your help at some point with coding and such. -------------------- Stay humble.

I wouldnt want to see the flea market area go, or people not being able to buy and sell through the forums.
The good results far outweigh the bad, think about it theres only been a couple bad apples. The idea of linking to an Ebay auction is cool too. Ive sold here, sold here for a reason...... Id rather my stuff go to someone that I at least somewhat know and interact with, than get sold on Ebay to a complete stranger..... No problem Jason, just trying to give back anyway I can. Hope the skinning of the board
is coming along. Don't over do it, go with something simple not to dark so it doesn't hurt the eyes. Remember, their is a lot of information so you must have a design that won't bother a user when he/she is staring at the screen for long periods of time. Chef, I know what you mean, there's always more talk about the bad deals then the good ones. I just mean that if removing the flea market helps the board keep the peace between members then I wouldn't mind not being to buy/sell, but understand your point about buying/selling to strangers. -------------------- Loneferret
