Here is a Horse-portrait I did back in -97 .. 30x42 cm

It was tough, I took my time on it because I really did not feel like drawing this,

but I had to, because the people who wanted this knew my boss where I worked at that time and he kept asking constantly " soo, is it done yet? "

I think I was a little bit overwhelmed by this horse ( I never had drawn any horses )

These days I donīt look at the portrait for what it is, I look at it as how it looks with the greytones, values etc

You can draw portaits of anything as long as you look at it as shapes and values and not what it is..

Most excellent. I couldn't even get close to this level. The only thing I see that could use improvement is the ears look like an after thought. Not sure what it is but they keep grabbing my attention.

ahaa , ok the ears..the values doesnīt really show in this picture..they look kinda dark. but the original has more contrast smile.gif

Think like this: No itīs not a horse ... itīs shapes, values, greytones etc
