Hey All,

My name is Jayson. I'm new to tattooing. I've loved visual art since I was a kid and always been intrigued by the process and ritual of tattooing.
I got my first tattoo when I was 12...got it removed (at my parent's request) when I was 13. =) Since then I've tattooed myself a few times (which I DO NOT recommend).
I've been tattooed professionally 5 or 6 times (a quarter sleeve, an upper back piece, a lower back piece, all of which were cover-ups of previous smaller pieces)

I decided I actually wanted to take it seriously and learn the art a few years ago. The last couple years I've just been reading, studying tattoo art, practicing my own (both tattoo and other art) and learning about BBPs and CC.
I bought a "kit" machine a year ago and have scratched on my thighs a bit. I'm just now getting ready to pick up a couple proper machines and move to the next level. (of tattooing better things on my thighs) =)

Super-stoked to have found InkTrails. This site is brilliant. The information available is unbelievable and the crowd is great and helpful. (thanks MonkeyRat)

Thanks for putting this together...stoked to be here. Looking forward to learning/sharing and being part of it all.

Cheers,

Jayson

Thanks guys...and thanks JD for the BBP and CC links. biggrin.gif I love how you post them for EVERYWHERE. I'll continue to read them. I'm slightly obsessive about "germs"...not to the extent that it renders my regular life unlivable but it's definitely the most important part of this process. without it, the art can be for naught.

I'm definitely going to take it slow. At the same time, I think it would be a good idea to learn with proper machines.
Would you all agree? I think this is true with anything that requires tools. A master can make a shit guitar sound decent, but he can blow your fucking mind with a great one.
I've checked out MonkeyRat's machines, and they look cool. (thanks for the info Monkey) Any other suggestions? I'm in the US. I'll likely go with a couple of Monkey's but additional suggestions would be appreciated.
I have looked in the forums and seen some suggestions. Any additional advice would be appreciated.

Cheers...
