Can't go wrong with Skin & Ink, lots of interviews
with artists rather than just collectors, good history
articles and a few on world tattooing..

Top recommendation, Total was my go to
mag in the U.K. (along with S & I) but it's
insanely expensive here in Canadia.!...

Ever since Tattoo Society came into my country I stopped buying TATTOO/FLASH/SAVAGE and all the other magazines. They have a very high standard of quality to what they show and usually showcase alot of Boris Laszo, Aitchison, JC and many more. I love that mag.

plus th interviews are pretty amazing.

I've seen it anywhere from C$15 to C$22 here in N.S... ohmy.gif
I also used to get Skin Deep in the U.K. but that just got
shonkier & shonkier over the years, I never liked it after the
whole rebrand/redesign a few years back, all filler no killer...

It depends on what you like or looking for. Interviews or pictures. Personaly I look for a lil of both. I most of the time go with U.K Mag's but if I see an interview of an artist that may interest me then I go with that. To me Juxtapoz is most definite worth checking out!!

i used to subscribe to juxtapoz and i think its worth looking at up n coming art so i may resubscribe to that,

i live in the US so i may go for skin& ink, i saw that hawaiian style girl on that last cover on that last issue which is a break from the ordinary rockabilly chick on nearly every mag.
i never saw total tattoo at stores here, maybe at some hardcore newsstands they might be there. . . i have an issue by tattoo life from the uk which is pretty cool it covered a lot of conventions and some artist interview

There's a magazing called " High Fructose." It has interviews with artists (not tattoo artists) and showcases their work and also art gallery events and whatnot. A lot of interesting ideas in there. The last issue i bought had some nice biomechanical reference material. There was a lady that took house hold items and garbage and transformed it into biomech looking sculptures. Pretty bad ass. It's worth checking out.

i came across that mag before... it was interesting, i was checking out one with mike giant work on it as he was the headliner.. i cop'd one with braundt peters' work in it; damn i suggest checking him out if your into illustration/cartoonish style art.. his shit is amazing

i think hi fructose and juxtupoz are kinda toe to toe as far as art mags go. with hi fructose on the higher end and juxtapoz on the lower..

I read Tattoo Life.
I have the european (UK) subscription.
www.tattoosupplies.uk.com
In my opinion it's one of the most serious publication around.
