yep i took the pic when i put it together the readings are unloaded with the springs changed,
im not realy happy with it cause its a bit ruff and dosnt run as sweet loaded but it was realy to check if the coils were alright,
but thanks for the input and ya right in the pic the back spring is on top of the front spring and im a bit anoyed about that cause to be honest i didnt notice that at the time.
i still got a way to go but getting better each time

you might have a semi of good numbers but its unusable
and the way the wires are run you will be lucky if they last a week with use

That yoke is way to thick for that frame with those coils bro. Im gonna guess thats why you had to bend the back spring like that to get em to even fit. Youll have to build it proper to know if the coils are any good, that machine will never run right as it sits good coils or not.

are your coils 1" and the yoke is a 1/4? put the front spring on top of the rear and see if it will clear the rear coils.
you need more stroke lol

These machine is intended to use as a Liner, Shader or Color packer? First you should planned before building a machine, but this one is look like a shader set up due to its thicker a-bar and very small stroke adjustment??? im not very sure unsure.gif May be some machine builder here can give more information about it. smile.gif

xman you can test your coils with a multimeter.
im not gonna ream ya over the machine thats been done a lil lol but im not gonna defend it either cuz be honest man the machine in that picture is jacked up. If youre just testing your coils , then cool, but if youre serious about getting into building, then spend more time on the builds.

No Im talking about the yoke, the piece of metal between the bottom of the coils and the frame. The one you have there is meant to be used with smaller coils or a taller machine. Thats your biggest problem. Use a thinner yoke and then just put on washers or shims to raise the coils a little bit if need be. The back coil should be slightly lower than the front, yours is higher. When you press down the front of the a bar It should touch the front coil but there should be a very small gap between the bar and the top of the back coil, about the thickness of a piece of paper of business card.

Ok cool the coil cores and yoke came as a set from crowknows so a taller frame might be a better option for them. iv already pulled it apart so i might give that a try, thanks
