This site is not a substitute for a professional apprenticeship with a licensed tattoo studio. Nor is this site a definitive source for learning the art or trade of tattooing. An apprenticeship is the ONLY universally accepted way to learn proper safety practices and sound technique.
While we welcome members of all levels, we STRONGLY advocate staying away from skin until you've received formal training from someone who works in the field. Hell, even hair stylists must complete over a year of courses, pass a state health board exam, and apprentice under a professional studio before earning a chair.
The trade of tattooing has a rich history and traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation. If you respect the art, please show your respects by learning the right way.

so this guy came into the shop the other day with this idea for a tattoo that starts on his right shoulder and comes wrapping around his arm, hes a chef so he wants to somehow incorporate elements of cooking into a dragon tattoo, i have been racking my brain and can really come up with anything except a dragon that is cut up and on shishkabobs or a dragon that looks like it is frying in a pan with mushrooms and othere veggies but both i dont think are very visually appealing and flowing like what he is talking about. anyone have any ideas, im not really great at coming up with ideas but if you tell me i can usually draw it.

A dragon stabbed by a bunch of chefs cutlery. You could get him to pick and choose his favorite tools that you can incorporate into the design.

a dragon blowing fire under a group of pots and pans. or....
a dragon made up of vegetables or.... a dragon rolling through steam from a cooker with a koi jumping put of it just random thoughts -------------------- Artistic growth is, more than it is anything else, a refining of the sense of truthfulness. The stupid believe that to be truthful is easy; only the artist, the great artist, knows how difficult it is.

A dragon that's checkerboard like kitchen pants, wearing a chef hat, holding a meat cleaver, and a spatula, breathing fire underneath a cauldron or something similar.

a dragon blowing fire under a group of pots and pans. or.... a dragon made up of vegetables or.... a dragon rolling through steam from a cooker with a koi jumping put of it just random thoughts add the dragon breathing fire under the cooker idea and that sounds like a winner! Maybe even have a lobster trying to get out of the cooker and snipping at the dragon's tail or something instead of a koi..............
