Alright well ive got a builder doing a custom machine as of now he wants to stay anonymous at the moment but hes a known builder here in the trails so here we have it.
thanx to barnstormer we have a title of "PAPER TRAILS" and we need a cover designed it can be a full page colored image it can be a simple sketch with text whatever u feel fits the bill heres the rules and what im looking for - Paper trails written on the cover - Original Art ONLY - Each member may submit only ONE entry - Pencil, Pen, Ink, Crayon, Paints, watercolor etc... - NO Digital or Photoshop (unless your cropping or making it a smaller size) - Art must be "Tattooable." - Nothing you drew a month ago is allowed, must be Original/New stuff - Contest ends October 31st at Midnight Hawaii Time ( thats 1 am Pacific ) Winner will be selected by the following: A Poll for the forum members will be worth - 1 vote Machine Builder will be awarded - 1 vote and I will be awarded - 1 vote ( if i decide to enter a cover i will forfiet my vote ) Original artwork from the winner must be sent to me for scanning or photographing, then it will be sent to the machine builder so he can have the original cover to the book. Nothing like free stuff to bring my broke ass out of hiding. Though it would seem like Joe's got this locked. Oh well
I tried to incorporate as many different styles as possible without killing the overall pic. I don't do a lot of traditional and I certainly don't do a lot of color. Which is probably easy to see. Getting out of my comfort zone and all that. All in all though, I suppose it came it fairly well.  Done with a shitload of pencils from an F to an 8B. |

Can't believe I'm still getting compliments after Joe's entry!
 I wondered whether anyone would comment on it looking unfinished; it's sort of meant to The red is the only paint - the hands are just painted with the coffee stain. I wanted it to have a work-in-progress feel about it, and also for the hands to be part of the paper, to emphasise it as the central medium instead of skin. (Regarding the sheets of paper in the background - when they were still just in grey wash, they really really looked like a black and white photo - it screwed with my eyes!)I knew I'd be way out of my league posting anything here - this is literally only my 5th ever piece of tattooish art, but with nothing to lose and a machine to gain I couldn't think of a good argument not to try. GoMegaX - I don't know how you've managed to make so many elements work so well together! |

i think theyre all really sweet but i like amys overall - i like how its more plain - less is more kinda

i think all entrys up tio now are great .. this is going to be a hard decision for my vote ... amy i loved the unfinished look but that bottle is fuckin amazing the glair and colors are perfect

I'm a shitty photographer... and my camera's batteries were dying so I only got a couple shots... one really heavy on the yellow tones.

Hey =) Wish I had more time just saw this contest earlier today and thought it sounded fun. I know my skill level isnt up there with the other entries yet......wich r amazing LOL. but i guess this is alright for a pencil and my brothers nearby crayolas xD. Wasnt gonna post it after seeing the others but figured what the hell.....at least i can get some good crit xD LmaO.

Glad to see I'm not the only one struggling to get an "honest" photo. Usually I just would use Photoshop to fix the image back to truth, but since that's against the rules in these threads it's a real pain in the bum!
