Gday guys and gals! Glad to finally post and say hi, ive been lurking for a while now picking up what advice i can. These forums are great, ive already taken in alot of advice.
I have recently started working from a shop but i havent had a formal apprenticeship. I have tried to get into tattooing for years but have come across too many obstacles to get the ball rolling. Until now!
Last year i left my 10yr job with a payout and started working for a tattoo shop as there artist, basically designing tattoos and drawing stencils. I did it to gain knowledge and put my foot in the door. Then in January of this year i flew to Thailand to study tattooing at Thailand tattoo school, i figured i didnt wanna fuck up anyone close to home or without tuition! I was supposed to stay a month but it was a load of crap, there was bugger all training and i was very disappointed so i quit after my second tattoo, got my money back! Which was my actual incentive to leave! And come back to Australia to see what happens?
I still worked for the tattoo shop as the artist but never got the tattooist job promised! In the mean time i was given permission to tattoo from home and i did. I tattooed from home from january to july i think and luckily didnt really mess anyone up. Since then ive been working in a shop and i love it! Now i just wanna learn learn learn, push my limits and fix all my faults!
I aspire to make this my career and to go as far as i can so i cant miss the opportunity to learn off such knowledgable people. The more i learn the more i need to learn more.
