> This site is no substitute for a formal apprenticeship

This site is not a substitute for a professional apprenticeship with a licensed tattoo studio. Nor is this site a definitive source for learning the art or trade of tattooing. An apprenticeship is the ONLY universally accepted way to learn proper safety practices and sound technique.

While we welcome members of all levels, we STRONGLY advocate staying away from skin until you've received formal training from someone who works in the field. Hell, even hair stylists must complete over a year of courses, pass a state health board exam, and apprentice under a professional studio before earning a chair.

The trade of tattooing has a rich history and traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation. If you respect the art, please show your respects by learning the right way.

i wanted to order some eikon armature bars today, but they couldnt provide me with the exact dimensions.now,i can only use a-bars that are 40 to 42mm,about 1-1/2"

so i find one of the conventional eikon arm bars (the ones i want)offered are exactly 42mm long.but what i cant find out is if thats the regular length or long.anywhere i find it says.."conventional eikon armature bars,42mm" no mention of regular or long.can some of the nicer guys around here with eikon a-bars measure thiers for me,and let me know if the one i have to order (42mm) are standard or long.

also what are peoples opinion, who makes a better arm bar infinite irons,or eikon.because infinite has a 1-1/2" bar to that will fit my machine, its like 40mm i think, but i know 1-1/2 half will fit my machines.does anyone know what kind of metal they make thier bars from? id prefer an iron bar to match my coil cores for better magnetism, and i know eikon uses steel for theirs but they do have a good rep.but if infinite is using the same metal as my coil cores,i assume that would be the smarter route to go,no?

please help me out here people

thanks all

Count

does anybodyknow what infinites bars are best suited for weight wise?because they only have one kind, not like other places with light bars for lining, and heavier bars for shading, and more so for packing still?

Im not 100%, i read a Q&A with joey d in a magazine today and i think he said he uses the same bar on his liners and shaders and for his color packers he uses a longer bar, i think it was 1 3/4"
