they seem to be pushing the website more than the book....even so,for $30 its probably no better or worse than the others....dont expect any groundbreaking stuff.
Id say you'd be better with the black book ($0) and this site but that dealer do have some nice slight damage discounts on some v nice books -------------------- GENTLEMAN LOSER -- INTERNATIONAL SLUM DOG -- ON A FARM

Anyone know anything about this book....?? http://www.tattooflashbooks.com/jordan01.html Pros..Cons.....?? Worth the $$ ?? From what I can see, it appears to be a pretty good book to start out with, and for reference anytime...... Thanks....... . Hey CJ - please check out the site that goes with the book - I am happy to answer any questions directly. Yes the website is a benefit - but the book can hold its own. And it was written in 2008 Published in 2009 - so it is more up to date as far as info you can get (ie liner shader - now is "liner" "shader" "color") for machine tuning. The website will continue to update with photos, tutorials, and video downloads. We are really working hard at getting the site up to snuff - but the book is a strong reference material that can be used away from the computer. Everyone who I have heard reviews from says that the book is def. worth it - I have received negative comments about how much we emphasize the sterile aspect of tattooing - but I dont know how that can be a bad thing. We also try to answer the Forum questions within 48 hours. We try to answer Member portal comments within 24 hours. We have direct eMail question / Tech Support address. This Book will NOT teach you to tattoo - This book is an accompanyment guide to a proper apprenticeship! You MUST try to complete an apprenticeship - that face to face / hands on is the only way you will get the feedback you need in real time. So many things you Can't show on Video or in a book - like the way the skin is reacting to the ink, and the healing time / phases. Hope this answers some of your questions - Just stumbled upon this little section on Ink Trails, and thought I would comment. We have a MySpace too - "Myspace@Teachmetotattoo.com" - so you can ask questions about the book there - before you pay for it. Best of Luck! Charles@TeachMeToTattoo.com |

Thanks Charles,
We just purchased the book.. This book, along with the Black Book, Ink Trails, and a few other necessary things, look to be a "MUST" for anyone interested in Tattooing................. and will be playing a major role in my daughters "Pre-Apprentice" program I'm putting her through.. ( I will be posting this program a little later, when I get the time to put it all together for folks here to see & digest") Thanks Again...Lookin forward to the book......... . -------------------- |

My boss got me this book to read through while I'm school and it is pretty helpful for people who are looking to get into this industry. While the material may be pretty basic and repetitive for the ones who know their shit on bbp, cc, etc... I did however learn alot about machine tuning through this book, which was something my mentor did not expand alot on when he was teaching me. I still recommend it for the price, even if you've been at it for 20 years, you still might learn something from this book.
