This is where you can buy the best Anatomical reference for artists. Be it Illustration or 3D modelling. I suggesting getting the poster with muscle ref. If you want to spend more money and want hands on try getting their Anatomy sculpt Anatomy tools

Ok Pose manicas is awesome. One thing about it though they UV maped the muscle structures over a 3D body. If you have a good anatomical ref so you can see more of the insertion and form of the muscles you have a killer combo.

This will also work for you trad guys who do little pin-ups because a form is a form even if stylized.

check out burne hogarth books. the best books i have ever read on the subject. explains the techniques used by divinci and others of that nature. makes alot of sense if you pay attention to every word. find myself learning something new even reading it four or five times over. has a book on dynamic anatomy, dynamic figure drawing, drawing dynamic hands, dynamic light and shade (a must), and dynamic wrinkles and clothing.

the hogarth books are good but too stylized if you're trying to learn form and value. All the his proportions are heroic proportions instead of the foundations that peopel need first. Clothed figure drawing by Barbara Bradley is good and figure drawing by Henry Yan and Anatomy for the Artist are beter for starting out.

yeah, i guess thats what you get from the guy who drew the original tarzan comics. ha. he doesn't really tell you how to mess with proportions, but they got me on one of the right tracks i think. yan is a must though.
