I was wondering if aluminum frames are too light for tattooing? I was thinking of picking up a aluminum frame for a custom build im planning on. I have heard that they are so light that it is difficult to control the vibration of the machine. Is that true? I have a spaulding frame that i recently purchased and was thinking of getting a kaplan frame as well for another tattoo machine. any thoughts on kaplan frames?

my boss is a UK distributor for Godoy machines and they are almost all Aluminium, they run very nice and aren't any more buzzy or noisy than any other material.
I think it does depend on the grade of Aluminium though. -------------------- ... -.-. .-. . .-- / -.-- --- ..- / --. ..- -.-- ... / .. .----. -- / --. --- .. -. --. / .... --- -- .

There is a person selling aluminum frames on ebay for like $28 that need finishing, holes drilled, etc. stay far far away from these.I bought one of the dietzel frames a while back and it was complete garbage, felt like it was made from melted soda cans, and once i started filing and sanding it there were tons of air pockets and bad casting flaws.

was that a US or UK seller? It's a US seller,he may not be selling them now,it was several months ago when i got mine and right after i bought it i got a messege from tyler mason letting me know he was going after the guy because they are direct copies of his frames, but not sure he may still be selling them so buyer beware. As far as the kaplan or spaulding,i've never used any kaplan frames so not sure, but the spaulding supreme is a nice frame. |

I only used their coils for a very short time a few years ago,and they seemed ok at the time, but then i started buying hand wrapped coils and noticed a big difference.I would suggest getting coils from someone like markt4lyf,or another good coil maker. They are a bit more expensive, but way better quality, plus you can choose your own design for the covers. The only thing i get from I.T.S anymore is a few of their iron frames.

Their speedbars are great.
For the spaulding frame the short bar will be fine, also fit all the ITS frames. Will make a very nice liner. If you're building on the Spaulding frame, Let whoever you buy your coils from know that it's for a Supreme. Standard coil washers are a bit big for those frames and need to be trimmed back a tiny bit for the coils to fit properly. -------------------- If you believe you have nothing left to learn, check your pulse, you could be dead.
