A professional tattoo artist on this forum has recently
been outed and as a result they have received threats from the established tattooing community. This has resulted in them asking for their posts to be removed and as we take the security and well being of our members very seriously we have had no choice but to oblige. There is a gradual but growing acceptance within the established tattooing community that it is far better to educate those who are set on a place within the business, but unable to apprentice, than to exclude them completely. As we all know "Self Taught" doesn't necessarily mean "Scratcher". There is still, however, a hardcore within the tattooing world who will never accept this a valid route into tattooing. We would respectfully remind users that there is still some considerable animosity from some quarters of the tattooing community toward self taught tattooists and those already professional who help or advise them. We would strongly recommend, therefore, that you refrain from posting any photographs of your face or any other identifying info such as your email address or shop address on the open forum. You should also take steps to protect yourselves in PMs. if you are not 100% sure about the person you are communicating with. These are not new forum rules at present but they are sound advice. It is with a heavy heart that I write this post this but, as we all know, the vast majority of users in this community are decent and respectful & honest. -------------------- We are all laying in the gutter but some of us are looking for spare change........

you know, the thing is.. we were nice enough to come in here and say something. there are pros out there that aren't as nice about things, they'll lurk and find out more info. possibly try and set up an appointment, then jump your shit in your own home. and yeah, i've seen it happen.
it's a little late to say i'm not trying to come off as some asshole, but there's alot of things in this site that are bent truths and some is just plain incorrect. and to the guy that said "i have and autoclave, and an ultrasonic to boot..." um, yeah buddy. that's like bragging about taking care of your kids, YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO! keep going on and doing what you're doing. you're the ones that have to live with yourselves knowing you have no respect from the professional tattoo community. and to bulldog joe or whatever... you say you work somewhere that'll make us change our minds.. well, where's that? we never got an answer. making claims like that, you better be six foot seventy and wear a bullet proof vest. you some tough guy military type? guess what, been there done that. you a cop? well, i wonder what they'd think of your health code violations? come on man, you wanna flex your nuts? let's do this. so really, what's gonna make us change our minds? really, i'm dying to hear it... now, on a lighter note. put the machines down. and by the way, gwenevir, i have used both cyclone and EMS. and when i said HEAVY electronics background i meant it. as in electrical engineering, i fine tune machines with an oscilloscope. i'll happily get into a pm conversation with anyone that can explain to me resonant tank theory as it applies to the tattoo machine. extra credit for expanding your explanation to include core permeability and air gap in relation to the quality or the transformer. i await your replies. |

I guess so...
Oh well... Here we go. Ok then, please inform us then. Make a list. A thread with all the incorrect information and bent truths. PLEASE! Really... if we are doing this the wrong way, well then just dont say we are. Compare the information on this thread, to what it's suppose to be... according to you. As for your autoclave comment, so if it 110%necessary, why do disposibles exist then? Hell I've seen shops in my area use them, but this is not the object of this reply. -------------------- Loneferret

and i just realized. i can't have pm's to carry on a private conversation on technical issues with members i feel would be receptive because i haven't paid the site. it would be pretty funny if we just went into all our pro forums and had MANY more people bombard you with pissed off posts. i mean, REALLY funny.
hey mods... you might want to restrict your image size so about 30 people don't gigaload your site and send your bandwidth through the roof. |

hey mods, heres another idea, instead of restricting image size, blah blah blah, how about you start posting ips for them if they try to "send our bandwidth through the roof"

keep going on and doing what you're doing. you're the ones that have to live with yourselves knowing you have no respect from the professional tattoo community. I feel offended for you to say that. I have great respect for the professional tattoo community. This is my situation, I love the art of tattooing. I respect it greatly. I admire the professionals. My dream is to be a tattoo artist. BUT!!! I have no choice but to chase my dream at home. My town has only one tattoo parlor. The artist knows me, is a great guy but is not inteested in an apprentice. My family does not want to relocate for me to follow my dream. I only tattoo pigskin. I do not/will not tattoo people in my home. I will continue to only tattoo pig skin until well... maybe in a year or so, I can hire a spot in my local tattoo parlor to tattoo my family/friends. (That's what I hope for.) Please don't assume that we are all scratchers. We are just trying to do what we love and do it right. Some here ARE apprentices. (I envy them!) -------------------- I crave knowledge! Teach me something useful or I'll bite you!

I've already posted a response
to one of your rambling right wing polemics but I'm starting to realize that your too dense to pick up on it. Below is a small list of self taught artists, are you planning on breaking any of their hands soon? No, thought not. It's not our fault you're so insecure in your ability to tattoo.. Joshua Lord Jose Lopez Mick of Zurich Edu Cerro Len & Jean of Harai Tattoo Horiren...
Reason for edit: Missed the second O in too
