After thinking long and hard about the future of this site, I have decided that we'll need some way of paying for it. At present, the most logical solution is charging membership fees for full-access. I know it will come as a shock to many and there will be a lot of griping, but I cannot afford to run this site from my pocket alone. I have spent the better part of a year building, designing, and upgrading this site as well as paying for monthly hosting charges. I have requested a server/database upgrade that should improve the site's performance in the coming months and all of this is going to need to be supported.
I am toying with price right now, but I am leaning towards offering a few choices: 1) Monthly Membership: $2/month on a recurring basis 2) Yearly Membership: $10/year on a recurring basis 3) Lifetime Membership: A one-time fee of $20 that lasts FOREVER! We think this is pretty fair considering the value of this site to many aspiring artists. There is probably more information on this site than any of the educational DVDs on the market that cost even more than the lifetime membership! This is an investment in your education. Besides, I think it's better to have a smaller forum with dedicated artists than a huge board with little quality control. At present, all members will still be able to use most of the site. However on January 1st, I will change the setting such that in order to do more than just read posts, I will require everyone to "join." To purchase a paid membership before the January 1st deadline, just go to "my controls" and on the left-hand side under "options" click "purchase a paid subscription." You will be directed to Paypal where you can choose one of the above options. As a gesture of gratitude, I will upgrade all those who donated ANY money thus far to a full life-time membership. Also, all mods will obviously get a golden ticket as well. Anyway, I hope all of you stick around and continue to enjoy the forum. -------------------- Stay humble.

ohh damn i donated money this morning i should have waited till i read this lol Lisa, I actually stated that ANYONE who donated ANY AMOUNT would be granted a lifetime membership (for stepping up to the plate when I first asked). You're already in, girl PS. That doesn't mean that if you donate $5 now you'll get a lifetime membership. That offer only applies to those who forked over their money before the subscription announcement. -------------------- Stay humble.

small price to pay. Thats exactly right wokka... I was actually thinking that I should have donated more...because the amount of useful information I have found here is actually exclusive material that I would not get anywhere else...other than committing to an apprenticeship, which would be impossible to do at this stage of my life. And there is a bunch of great people here that provide an awesome platform for this information to be shared, so well done guys. Your work is appreciated and I will become a regular donator...no problems at all. Thanks for making me Lifetime Member #7 I am truly humbled. I would have been happy paying $50. It's well worth it for the wealth of knowledge and the quality of people we have on here. Except for Rocket Rob of course.
Look for my paid subscription soon after Christmas Jason. eldubya dot lonewolf at gmail dot com -------------------- Tattooed people don't care if you aren't tattooed.

Well that's nice. It will help weed out the trouble makers. I know I donated a few buck bucks the day the button came
online. Will probably give a little more once the holiday season is over. Maintaining a web site such as this one can be very expensive. With less members constantly logged on, this will help the overall performance as well. ps.: where's my moderator cap??? LOL -------------------- Loneferret

20 bucks for a lifetime membership thats not bad at all. I just joined the forum and I like it a lot. I'll be sending in my 20 bucks for a lifetime membership. This is one of the best sights I've seen relating to tattoos.

Sounds good Jason. I know I don't get to post as much as I would like to, but like everyone else has said, the information I have gained here is priceless.
