Here's a short aussie one. Hygienic procedures for tattooists:

It's not really... very helpful... mellow.gif But it's good for a short read.

EDIT:
Here's some more! biggrin.gif

Okay... that's probably enough. smile.gif

ain't that the truth, i've had people call me a nitpicking ninny (or whatever me said)on this forum... if you do your self dirty you could become a typhoid mary... share with your frinds... dumbasses .... we are in the buisness or opening holes in the human body in this time of common mrsa we should be as sterile as possible. look at an operating room and look at you neighborhood shop big difference for a procedures that both open the body to the enviroment.
people dont care enough.. what has to happen to make people care? i dont even want to think of the answers. if your dont like the price of gloves bags and sprays than dont do it..... take up drawing.

Ok, I have to ask.

I currently just have a pressure cooker until I can afford an autoclave.

I want to make sure I'm using it right though.. does anyone have some advice?

Also, When cleaning reusable items... should I be using something disposable to scrub them with?

My advice would be to stard using disposable tubes/grips. Ive read some startling things about stovetop cookers, and their reliability vs autoclave. This isnt something you wanna screw with or take chances on... its not worth it. Play it safe. I know your already doing tattoos on people and stuff, and you cant afford to take shortcuts. Id seriously slow down. All this type of research is something we all have to learn and do when we start, but Id strongly recommend figuring all this out before you start gettng back into human flesh. No tattoo is worth getting someone, or yourself sick.

as stated get some disposables
pressure cookers just dont cut it ... period!
i also wouldnt recommend that some one at your level
purchase an autoclave- chances are you wouldnt know how to run it
properly - slow down practice on some pig , get some work together and try
to find someone qualified to apprentice you - that is the only way to
learn the right way

good info there. i posted this a while back as well. thing about that document is its a general guideline. not a 100% end all thing theres more that can be done. all of the preventive measures are there. as a general guidline for everybody else. but if your canadian and are tattooing or thinking of tattooing. learn this back to back and improve on it . i read this thing every weekend for the first 2 years i started i could quote from it.
