> Guidelines for Giving Feedback

Please consider the following when giving feedback on a member's tattoo:

Line work: Does the artist seem to have grasped the technique of applying smooth, consistent lines? Do the lines flow with no shakes, skips or blow-outs?

Fill: Are all color and black areas a consistent color?

Shading: Does the tattoo show smooth gradients and transition effectively from light to dark?

Color Harmony:
Does the tattoo have colors that compliment each other?

Placement/Size:
Does the tattoo seem to be the right size for the area chosen? Is it centered and lined up with any other work? Does it go with the flow of the body?

Design: How well does the overall design work? Does it have sound composition? Does it feel well thought out?

Feedback: What areas could be improved?

thanks, i ll try take a bigger pic soon. used 7 mag for most, started with 3rl for area around the eyes etc. 3rl for white highlights as well in the end. used kuro sumi outline ink and greywash, dipped around 3 other caps all a bit lighter than the other. dont work in % when i calculate, but check the mag on a paper towel to see if the ink is dark / light enough..

yeah something looks odd with the left eye, its true..

cheers

Looks good bro!

i wanna do a couple more before trying on the person. kinda paranoid as to whether shading looks fine on the pigskin but then about whether the lighter parts stay on real skin after it heals.. but i guess that can always be worked upon, i prefer to add slowly than overdo
thanks again for the comment

I don't like dogs, but I like that :-)
the fact its on pig skin is even better, taking the time to make things that detailed on 'fake' skin takes patience.

i dunno, my freezer s all portraits of dogs at the mo, lol. looks like a maniac's thing wink.gif i ve never really done big tattoos yet except on myself.. and kinda feel responsible to take a step further on somebody s back. what worries me is whether some of the lighter grey would disappear on real skin once its healed if not deep enough.. i mean, the pig skin is dead and doesnt regenerate itself, so if i go too shallow it will stay.. anyway,. i guess that can be worked upon after it heals- the person i do this on is not a client, i see her each day and as long as i dont fuck it up, neither of us is in a hurry.. so i wont look bad for keepin her waiting

hey, thanks for yer feedback wink.gif

Very cool idea and well exicuted! I'm sure you'll do fine on the real thing. Just remember on the skin to go a bit darker because it will heal lighter.
