I'm not keen on the rocky Yin and Yang symbol.. but the tiger looks lovely.
its a shame his tail had to disappear off without an end to wag.. ;-) -------------------- Karma....

Looks good, did you trace it or eye-ball it? What kind of greywash setup did you use?
Did you use the Kuro outline for the shading also? If you find it hard making your own wash, try the 4 stage silverback setup. Whenever you do b&g, it's always good to use at least 5 values with Black being 1 and their skintone being 5. But you should use more shading in there around the face, light baby-wash if that makes sense. It's very light(could be the pic) It's ok if it looks a LITTLE dark will most likely heal a little lighter once it heals(it's hard to see through that red irritated skin color huh) But again, it looks good, well done, but next time, don't be shy with the wash |

As for the piece... artistically its pretty good. However I think its too light. It has a real risk of being just a gray feathery pic when its done, due to having almost no dark black for contrast. This also makes the right side of the tigers face look confusing. The piece definitely needs more darks for contrast and depth. |

Well even if you did go too light, its better to be too light, than too dark. For your second realistic piece, id say you went the safe route and are reaping the benefits, you have a nice tattoo that will be great when you touch up some light spots

The tiger is real good & once healed you'll be able to see where you need to darken some areas. That part is a good tattoo & you should be proud.
The yin/yan symbol is..... how do i say this the PC way?....... "fucked"! The symbol as a whole's perspective is as if you're looking right to left, yet the hole is left to right. Also the cracks are a touch heavy. They really should be lighter & shaded. Now although the tiger is good (in my opinion) it's the mistakes that people notice & which distinguishes a good tattoo & a bad one. Fix the yin/yan & you'll improve the tattoo 10 fold. -------------------- "In this truck is a man whose latent genius, if unleashed, would rock the nation, whose dynamic energy would overpower those around him. Gotta agree with Alvin and Loaf/Toph here, needs darker shading and the Ying Yang is twisted

They make fake skins with nipples? aren't you going to sacrifice your body to 'tattoo science' when you pop your clogs? ! skin donaring! -------------------- Karma....

I think close up and seperately the tigers features look nice.. maybe a little light. I just think when you look at it all together it's just not right.. it looks, i dunno maybe flat? Theres no shadow behinds it's snout, or on the far side of the head. Also the tiger in the reference pic looks like it ready to pounce... yours looks lazy and also a little "spesh"
