Picked the Drawing on the right side of the brain work book today. I have both the old and the new editions of the book and saw this at the store and picked it up. It has all the work studies from the book broken down into a work book format like you might see in school. Seems to be a good addition to the book.

For anyone interested, I was able to get a copy of Betty Edwards book at my local library, (Amazon.com has used copies for as low as 7 bucks too) and there's a free website named learn-to-draw.com that uses the same principles (got that from ink-trails so thanks to whoever posted that

I just received The New Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain, New Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain Workbook and Drawing on the Artist Within: An Inspirational and Practical Guide to Increasing Your Creative Powers. These are amazing! I am putting down the needles for awhile and going back to increasing my drawing ability. Only cost 38$ US from Amazon.
I am also interested if anyone has purchased Betty Edwards: A Course in Mastering the Art of Mixing Colors. Please write a review if you have. -------------------- |

this book is definitely worth every penny... the writing is extremely coherent and it is not difficult at all to follow, I would say its one of the must reads out there.... at least its one of my personal favorites in my library.

It's a must read if you havent had a couple decent high school level art courses. If you've had a good art education, its a decent refresher to do the excercises if its been a while.

I started with Drawing for the Absolute and Utter Beginner by Claire Garcia. I am really enjoying it.
I plan on using Edwards books after I finish. However, I will probably skip Drawing on the Artist Within, as I believe it to be a rehash of the lessons from Right Side of the Brain, but geared toward improving creativity in other fields. Probably drawn from her work with as a corporate speaker. My 2 cents. -------------------- "Better the pain than to remain the same."
